about

Does celebrating like this really make a difference in reducing relationship anxiety? It does. Celebrations stimulate the brain. When you look for positive aspects of your interactions with others, the people themselves, and your own actions, and then do something to celebrate the positive, you trigger the dopamine system in your brain. This is your brain’s reward system, the feel-good system. Your brain connects the positive relationship aspects you’ve noticed and the little celebration you do to reinforce it (your brain doesn’t need a big celebration) by releasing dopamine, feeling good, and having less anxiety.

Shifting your thinking, noticing the good on purpose, and celebrating that good releases dopamine that reduces anxiety. The more you do this, the more the brain will associate its dopamine rushes with your relationships. Celebrate your way to a new, positive relationship perspective with less anxiety.
